Part-time Monday to Friday 9am – 3pm (including 1 hour unpaid lunch break) – 25 hours per week. 

Location 

4 days Office in Upminster, Essex or shoot set based. 1 day Remote Working from home. 

About Positive Signs

At Positive Signs, British Sign Language is our business. We are a Deaf-led company providing a customised range of services within a customer- driven environment.

Since  2004,  we  have  been  an  established  provider  of  communication services,  supplying  language  service  professionals  such  as  BSL/English Interpreters  and  Communication  Support  Workers.  We  manage  and provide ongoing delivery of support, utilising Disabled Students Allowance and Access to Work. We provide accredited British Sign Language courses, approved by the awarding body Signature, plus our own robust package of Deaf Awareness Training on-site / online and remotely.

Description

Purpose

  • The Digital Content Creator position is a new position across all 5 teams that supports the development of creative solutions for our services and products.
  • Your creative direction will capture the imagination of audiences, overdeliver client briefs and set the highest possible standard through targets and regular reporting mechanism.
  • Your creative concepts won’t rely on big budgets to disrupt people’s feeds. You intuitively understand how to leverage digital formats, audience culture and social influencers to drive reach and awareness.
  • The objective is to both increase the confidence of our clients and their agencies in creating better Media content and to increase media spending as a result of that confidence building. You will also partner up with other like minded Businesses to initiate and oversee the work across Positive Signs.

Main duties and responsibilities

The post holder is expected to:

  • Manage and develop Positive Signs social media across all platforms.
  • Manage, develop and maintain Vocabs, Microsoft PowerPoints, Lessons Plans, Course Structures in the Training Team.
  • Ensure all requests and tasks are completed in a prompt manner.
  • Manage and develop online courses & ensure Thinkific is up to date.
  • Intervene appropriately to assist on demand communication or to correct errors misunderstanding and culturally mediate to resolve communication difficulties within the Creative team.
  • Maintain Positive Signs Internal Emails
  • Knowledge in how to use filming equipment and to film content
  • Possess Editing skills using Premier Pro
  • Ability to create and design graphics

Quality

  • Maintain the quality of own work and ascertain competence for the needs of the assignment by engaging with all participants.
  • Ensure to Health and Safety on all filming tasks.
  • Ensure that all Media represents Positive Signs in accordance to its ethos.
  • Represent Positive Signs in a professional manner at all times, including dress in appropriate attire and being able to provide identification, a Positive Sign badge whenever carrying out working duties.
  • Maintain records of assignments in working diary provided, and complete a timesheet for certain tasks.
  • Attend relevant training events and Positive Signs related meetings as required and to maintain CPD.

Person Specification

Essential Skills and Knowledge

This role will be suitable for a person who has experience woking within Digital Content and Media.

  • Proven experience in a media environment
  • A portfolio of best-in-class creative that connects brands with audiences in digital and beyond
  • Understand Deaf culture and local communities.
  • Exemplary written and BSL skills with a flair for a creative copy that captures the audience’s imagination
  • A depth of knowledge in digital culture and the audiences that populate them
  • Multiple  disciplines  and  embrace  the  various  roles  required throughout a project
  • Ability to think clearly and contribute to strategic discussions during the entire design process, from concept through completion
  • Ability to pitch proactively new ideas and creative direction.

Essential Skills and Knowledge Continued…

  • Great familiarity with the Deaf social media and campaigns scene.
  • Familiarity with all Positive Signs services, ability to navigate and ideate to each product eficiently.
  • To be able to manage and delegate to the Creative team members.

Communication Skills

  • A person with a desire to design and implent projects of their own with the support of the Creative team.
  • A good level of written and spoken English.
  • A good level of British Sign Language.
  • Able to recognise people’s beliefs, preferences and choices regardless of ethnic origin, disability, age, gender, sexual orientation, faith, social or cultural background.
  • Able to use professional methods and reporting procedures to deal with conflict arising from dificult situations (e.g. racism, stereotyping, and complaints).

Information and Knowledge – Information Processing

  • Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Ofice applications, Premier Pro, Final Cut, WordPress and Thinkiic.
  • Familiar with web-based access including Zoom and/or Facetime.

Salary

Payment will be £ 2,000 per month.
