Hi, my name is Helen Aska
I’m Employment Support at Positive Signs, I joined October 2022, to help Deaf clients find work. I work in the Employment Team where I meet with clients and support them in finding work by removing barriers, create professional CVs, brush up on interview skills and techniques used and provide appropriate BSL interpreters for the interviews.
I most recently worked on the government initiative scheme The Restart Programme at Reed in Partnership, and before that, with Maximus.
What I love about Positive Signs it’s my dream job, it is such a warm and collaborative place to work. Sally has a very collegiate and inclusive style, and she has surrounded herself with intelligent and enthusiastic individuals (like me) who are great at what they do.
I’m very passionate about helping authentic, purposeful brands grow and Positive Signs is Deaf owned and Deaf led. It’s serious about doing good: internally this is demonstrated through its everyday culture, externally through the important services they offer, and the many special projects they do – they are actively working to ensure equality for Deaf people and improving lives.
They truly walk the walk.
My work career spans over 40 years’ from becoming a Bus Driving to Operations Manager in the public service industries, my skills, experience and knowledge is valued in my role. I am learning lots of new things everyday including BSL sign language.
