Employment Support

I’m Sally Jane Pamment and my role at Positive Signs is Employment Support Officer.

I joined the team in June 2023, bringing with me over 30 years’ experience working in employment support and guidance.

I have previously worked in the charity and public sectors after gaining my Level 4 qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance at Islington College.

I am really looking forward to working with the team to support deaf people into employment and training.

I have also worked as a Support Worker with deaf and disabled people and feel passionately about encouraging people to achieve their goals, especially those who have faced barriers.

I am delighted to be part of the friendly, hardworking team at Positive Signs and hope to see the organisation grow in supporting the deaf community and in raising awareness of the issues deaf people face in life.

It’s been great to meet everyone and learn about the different skills they all bring to the company.

I was born profoundly deaf in a hearing family and did not learn to sign until my mid-twenties.

I now love BSL and consider it my first language. It’s great that Positive Signs is able to pass on its knowledge of sign language in its BSL classes, encouraging everyone to learn this beautiful language.

Outside of work I enjoy yoga, badminton and getting out and about in the fresh air.
