Cancellation Policy for DSA Students

If a Student needs to cancel a booked session, they must provide notice as detailed below to Positive Signs Education and via email to:

education@positivesigns.uk.

Positive Signs Education cancellation notice periods and fees are as follows:

For BSL/English Interpreters:

• seven working days or less notice – full booking fee applies;

• eight to fifteen days – 50% of the booking fee applies plus, if applicable, any disbursements which may have been made in advance for which there is no recovery (such as travel tickets, hotel costs, and similar).

For notetakers, 48 hours’ notice is required:

• Less than 48 hours’ notice – full booking fee applies;

If a Student does not provide sufficient notice or fails to attend a booked session due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, this will be classed as a missed session (and will include all support booked for that day).

Student Finance England will only fund two cancellations/missed sessions per student in any one academic term. If a Student misses a third session, Positive Signs Education will cancel all further support due for that term, unless there is prior agreement from their education establishment to cover the fees for missed appointments over and above the DSA allowance of a maximum of two missed sessions per term.

Support provision will re-set for the next academic term and Positive Signs Education will resume the provision of NMH Support Workers as per the original agreement.
